his year’s workshop explores the role of women archaeologists in Greece between 1910 and 1950 — a period marked by the Balkan Wars, World War I, World War II, and the Greek Civil War.
How did women archaeologists contribute during wartime? What can archival research reveal about their roles and impact?
From nursing and ambulance driving to intelligence work and humanitarian aid, women played crucial yet often overlooked roles. The workshop also addresses contested narratives, intersectional perspectives, and the broader social and political context of their actions.
